## Core Positioning

TraceFence Standard turns iPhone into a local control surface for Mac agents. It is not just a quota dashboard and not another chat UI. The key value is remote agent control from TraceFence Sentinel: approvals, launch and relaunch, interrupt, resume, terminate, recent context, and event monitoring. Users should start with the GitHub local build because feature updates and bug fixes ship faster there; the App Store build remains available for store-signed installation.

There is no TraceFence cloud relay. Sentinel connects directly to the paired Mac, preferring Agent Core on port 17896 and falling back to the Mac compatibility gateway when needed. Remote access uses the user's LAN, Tailscale, ZeroTier, WireGuard, VPN, Cloudflare Tunnel, frp, SSH reverse tunnel, DDNS, or another secure private route.

TraceFence Agent Core currently ships adapters for Codex Desktop, Claude Code, Cursor Agent, Gemini CLI, Grok CLI, Qwen Code, OpenCode, MiniMax Code, OpenClaw, Hermes Agent, Kiro CLI, Aider, Amp, Goose, GitHub Copilot CLI, Factory/Droid, CodeBuddy, and Trae.

Capability is negotiated at runtime. Installed or readable data roots do not automatically mean remote control is available. Codex Desktop, Claude Code, Gemini CLI, Grok CLI, Qwen Code, OpenCode, and MiniMax Code can expose richer control or approval paths when their local CLI, daemon, hook, or API is configured. CodeBuddy and Trae may be read-only monitoring when only local IDE indexes are available.
